The Primary Causes of Poverty

Globalization is now being the hottest issue in the world wide while poverty is being the hottest global problem that seems to be unsolved. People, nowadays, do not live in the ancient era in which money is not the main necessity to support their life. They are now living in the globalization era which probably has them force their mind to think of earning money more. They cannot even deny that money can guarantee them to live easier. People, therefore, believe that being poor in the globalization era must be a nightmare for them. As the fact we see recently, some people live their life easily with their tons of wealth while some others keep suffering from poverty. It seems to be unbelievable issue; nevertheless it is truly happening around us even now. Consequently, it is important that people know the primary causes of poverty. Two aspects of its primary causes are, recently, urgent to be discussed; they are internal aspects and external aspects.

The main causal factor of poverty is commonly found in internal aspects. It covers mostly in individual and family cases. Some studies show that people may be poor when they are not educated due to the fact that all aspects of life need education as the foundation to be successful person. Education is basically needed to find a proper job for earning money. People may also be poor in case of getting early marriage. It happens as they are married in unproductive age while in the contrary they must fulfill their family’s daily needs. It seems to be urgent for people to get married in their productive age to avoid the upsurge in poverty. In addition, low self motivation must also cause poverty. It is because self development is based on one’s self motivation. People mostly give up when they are rejected in their job application so that they become terribly pitiful unemployment. It must be a bad news that they will not be able to earn money for their daily needs.

Another aspect that causes the existence of poverty is shown in external point of view. This aspect indicates that poverty is also caused by corruption done by the government. Basically, government has responsibility toward the welfare of the country included solving the problem of poverty that may suffer their society. This statement, unfortunately, become questionable since the government corrupted country’s money which will be given to the poor. Another different factor is that poverty may be caused by wars. Most countries, which are on war, normally affect the society as they lose their job or even industries. It happens due to the fact that the war-torn on the industrial factories or other industrial fields are no longer unworthy to use. The last potential factor of poverty from the external aspect is disaster. This case can cause serious damages toward almost all aspects of human’s life; included the economic, ecosystem, and even psychological aspect. Therefore, it is terrible to see people lose their home, job, and even all the properties they have.

Based on this essay, it can be briefly stated that the causal factors of upsurge in poverty are indicated in internal and external aspects. Being uneducated, getting early marriage, and having low self motivation can simply evoke people to be poor. Basically, people want to be free from poverty, yet they do not have good self motivation. Besides, corruption, wars, and disasters are other potential factor of the increasing of poverty. Government is intending to ensure society’s welfare, yet they corrupt the money that they propose to help the poor or even the victims of wars and disasters. These terrible cases seem to be so unstoppable that poverty is still increased and unsolved even now. I, therefore, propose that people must have good self motivation and so does the government. It may not be truly effective solution to solve the case of poverty in the world, but it must be a good solution to assist people from avoiding poverty.
